Seattle Carry-On Luggage 20.5 vs 23.5 Inch: Which Size to Buy

The short answer: smaller for lighter trips, larger for longer ones

The Seattle Carry-On comes in two sizes: the 20.5-inch Smaller in Dark Moss and the 23.5-inch Larger in Ash. Both are described as fitting in the overhead compartment on flights, so the real decision comes down to how much you pack, how often you fly, and which color you prefer. If you typically travel with just the essentials for a weekend, the 20.5-inch is the lighter, more compact choice. If you need extra room for a week or more, the 23.5-inch gives you more space without sacrificing overhead compatibility.

Size and capacity: what the measurements mean for packing

The catalog lists the smaller Seattle as under 21 inches and the larger as under 24 inches. Those figures refer to the exterior size, not the internal packing capacity. Because the catalog does not provide internal dimensions or volume in liters, you should treat the size difference as a general guide rather than an exact measure of what each bag holds.

• 20.5-inch Seattle (Smaller): Under 21 inches, making it a compact carry-on that fits in the overhead bin. Best for short trips where you pack light.
• 23.5-inch Seattle (Larger): Under 24 inches, still fits in the overhead bin but offers more exterior space. Better for longer trips or when you need to bring bulkier items.

Color choice: Dark Moss vs Ash

The smaller size comes in Dark Moss, a deep green, while the larger comes in Ash, a light grey. Color is purely aesthetic here—both are neutral enough to match most luggage sets. If you prefer a darker bag that hides scuffs, Dark Moss is a practical pick. If you like a lighter bag that stands out on the carousel, Ash is a good option. Neither color affects the bag's functionality.

What the catalog doesn't tell you

The supplied product records do not include internal dimensions, weight, number of compartments, or wheel type. If those details matter to you—for example, if you need a specific pocket layout or prefer a lightweight bag—check the full product page or contact the store for more information. The absence of these details in our summary is not a sign that the bag lacks them; it simply means we don't have that data to share here.
